Muir Brothers Funeral Home has been serving Lapeer County since 1908, when Allen Muir, William Muir, and Walter Muir established the original funeral home in Dryden. The family expanded across the county through four generations, with Paul Muir opening the Lapeer location in 1952. Larry Muir and his wife Sharon currently operate the funeral home, maintaining the family's independent ownership that began over a century ago.
The business is the oldest funeral home in Lapeer County under continuous original family ownership. While related Muir Brothers locations operate in Imlay City and Almont, each remains independently owned by different branches of the Muir family and focused on their respective communities. The funeral home provides services for veterans and offers permanent memorialization options.
