About Moody Funeral Service & Crematory
Moody Funeral Service & Crematory traces its origins to 1902, when E. A. Hannah established a harness and coffin dealership in Mount Airy. Wade C. Moody joined the business in 1915 and became sole owner by 1928. His son Dennis W. Moody assumed the presidency in 1947-48 and expanded operations to include the Stuart location, bringing the total to three facilities across North Carolina and Virginia.
Robert H. Moody, the current president, joined the firm in 1978 and represents the fourth generation of family ownership. The funeral home operates its own crematory and offers tribute videos, keepsakes, and live-streaming capabilities for families who wish to personalize services.
