The Meyers family has been involved in funeral service since the early 1900s, beginning when Walter Meyers earned his funeral director's license in 1923 and formed Zierer & Meyers Funeral Home. Walter's son Nelson G. Meyers graduated from mortuary school in 1949 and continued operating the business, followed by his son Rodger, who graduated from Mid America College of Funeral Service in 1984. The funeral home represents three generations of licensed Meyers family funeral directors serving Batesville and southeast Indiana.
In 2014, Rodger and Taaron Meyers opened a new ground-level facility on State Road 46 in Batesville, designed to accommodate families choosing burial, cremation, or memorial services. The funeral home provides services at their facility, local churches, and cemeteries throughout the area.
