McMikle Funeral Home was founded in 1951 by Elgin and Sue McMikle, who opened their first location in East Prairie in January 1952. The family expanded to Charleston in 1954 and most recently established a Sikeston location in February 2020 with the purchase of the former Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
In January 2024, the business was transferred to Terry A. Parker, who has been connected with McMikle Funeral Home since childhood when his parents worked alongside the McMikle family. Terry began working in the funeral business at age 17 and continued that path into his career. The funeral home serves families throughout Scott and Mississippi Counties with both burial and cremation services.
