Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors was established in 1912 by R. B. Leatherwood on the courthouse square in Hillsboro. Ford Marshall and H. V. Aderhold purchased the business in 1923, and it has operated under the Marshall name ever since. Louie Marshall, who joined in 1924, led the firm until his death in 1967.
C. E. Holloway and his wife Lillie Fae joined the firm in 1949, with C. E. becoming co-owner in 1963. Lewis Hollingsworth also joined that year and later partnered with Louie Marshall to purchase the funeral home in Itasca. The organization expanded to include a full-service location in Whitney in 1967.
The funeral home offers both traditional burial and cremation services with options ranging from full funeral ceremonies to private family gatherings. Services include tribute videos, keepsakes, and live streaming for distant family members. The firm provides preplanning assistance through a dedicated specialist and offers ongoing grief support resources for families.
