About Marks Funeral Home Inc
Willie R. Marks and Annie M. Marks founded Marks Funeral Home in 1948 at 810 South Jackson Street, establishing the first African American funeral business in Magnolia. Now in its third generation of family ownership under sole owners Joe and Virginia Marks Todd and Jerry Todd, the business relocated in 1996 to a purpose-built facility at 1392 South Jackson Street.
The current building features the A.M. Marks Chapel, a non-denominational chapel seating over 225, along with handicapped-accessible entrances, a covered porch, carport, and ample parking. The funeral home offers pre-arrangement services, life insurance consultations for funeral expenses, and pre-paid funeral plans that lock in current pricing.
