The Lux family began with the purchase of Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home in Alma that year, then expanded over three decades to acquire funeral homes throughout the region, including Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge and locations in St. Louis, Middleton, Riverdale, Carson City, and Crystal.

Paul Lux, a licensed funeral director, led the expansion of the funeral home group after working alongside his father Charles R. Lux Sr. In 2013, Nicholas and Laura Lux purchased the funeral home network from Paul, continuing the family's ownership into a second generation.
