About Lowther Funeral Home
The Lowther family has been in funeral service for three generations, with roots in Indian River County dating back to the 1950s. Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory opened in 2001, expanding from the original Lowther Cremation Service established in 1997. The business is staffed by licensed funeral directors Joseph D. Lowther, Thomas S. Lowther, Ryan S. Lowther, Saranne S. Lowther, Timothy D. Myers (who also serves as a Martin County Firefighter Paramedic), and Jeff Gibbs.
The funeral home operates Vero Beach's only on-site crematory, ensuring families that their loved ones remain in the facility's care throughout the cremation process. Staff members hold advanced certifications through the Cremation Association of North America and adhere to a strict Cremation Code of Ethics. The facilities at 1655 27th Street include both the full-service funeral home and the adjacent cremation service location.
