About L.J. Griffin Funeral Home
L.J. Griffin Funeral Home in Livonia traces back to 1954, when Larry and Gerry Griffin opened their first funeral home on Plymouth Road in Detroit. Gerry was among the first three women licensed as full-time funeral directors in Michigan and helped found the Michigan Women's Funeral Director Association.
The business grew into a multi-generation family operation, with sons Larry and David joining as second-generation directors and granddaughter Alexandra and grandson Sean now representing a third generation. Beyond Livonia, the Griffin family operates additional locations in Westland, Canton, Northville, and the Keehn-Griffin Funeral Home in Brighton, serving Wayne County families across Detroit, Hamtramck, Farmington Hills, and the surrounding area.
