About King Funeral Service
King Funeral Service traces its roots to 1892, when James J. King founded the original family funeral home in Philadelphia. Five generations later, the business is now run by Thomas Sinclair and his daughter Lauren, who continue arrangements started by Michael King, James King, and the Sinclair family before them.
The firm relocated to Newtown Square in December 2001 after consolidating its Southwest Philadelphia operations. Tom and Lauren King Sinclair conduct many arrangements in clients' homes and work with churches throughout Delaware County, since most services take place off-site rather than inside the funeral home building.
Families from Newtown Square and nearby Delaware County towns can arrange traditional funerals, cremation services, and pre-need planning directly with the family directors rather than through sales staff.
