Karl N. Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel was established on July 4, 1997 by Reverend Karl N. Flagg, a Florida licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1983. Flagg began working in funeral service at age 10 and served at D. A. Boyd & Sons Funeral Home from 1971 to 1997 before founding his own firm. He is a 1979 graduate of Miami-Dade College of Funeral Service Education and holds credentials as a notary public.
In addition to funeral home operations, Flagg has served as Senior Pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church in Palatka since 1991 and previously served as City Commissioner and Mayor of Palatka during the 1990s. The funeral home provides burial, cremation, memorial, and shipping services throughout Putnam County.
