About Jones And Turner Funeral Home
Jones and Turner Funeral Home traces back to 1955, when R.L. Turner and John Paul Jones founded R.L. Turner Funeral Home on Pearl Street in Madison. The business later took the Jones and Turner name and moved to Burney Street in 1959, where it still operates today.
Ownership has stayed within the Turner family for four generations: R.L. Turner ran the funeral home and Morgan County's first ambulance service until 1979, his wife Rena took over and led the business until 2009, and her son William Turner now continues the family's work. It is recognized as the oldest Black-owned business in Morgan County and the city of Madison.
The funeral home offers direct burial, direct cremation, traditional funeral and graveside services, chapel services, and obituary assistance, using Batesville, Matthews, and Aurora caskets and urns along with Wilbert vaults. It serves Madison and surrounding Morgan County communities, including Covington, Eatonton, and Greensboro.
