Jewish Memorial Chapel Funeral Service — Funeral Home in Clifton, NJ

Jewish Memorial Chapel has operated as a nonprofit funeral home since 1921, making it one of only a few nonprofit funeral homes in the United States. The chapel is supervised by local synagogues and Jewish organizations in the Passaic and Essex County area, with surplus funds returned to community charities supporting education, health, and care of the elderly.

The facility at 841 Allwood Road in Clifton was constructed in 1999 as a state-of-the-art building, replacing earlier locations on Columbia Avenue and Howe Avenue in Passaic. In 2005, a stand-alone climate-controlled Kohanim Chapel was added with bi-directional audio and video hookup to the main chapel. The funeral home is located less than two miles from King Solomon and Menorah Cemeteries.

All funerals are conducted in strict compliance with Halacha under supervision of Rabbi Elchonon Zohn, Director of Vaad of Queens, with assistance from local Chevra Kadishas. Funeral directors coordinate arrangements with all cemeteries in the tri-state area and specialize in out-of-town transportation to locations including Florida, California, Texas, and Illinois, as well as international transfers to Israel and other countries. The chapel offers live streaming for services and is a member of CHOICES, the New Jersey Prepaid Funeral Trust Fund.
