Jennings-Calvey Funeral & Cremation Services — Funeral Home in Clarks Summit, PA

Jennings-Calvey Funeral & Cremation Services was established in 1900 by John J. Jennings in North Scranton as a livery service with horse-drawn carriages before evolving into a funeral home on West Market Street. Mary Jennings, FD, one of the first female funeral directors licensed in the nation, joined the firm in 1947. Christopher C. Calvey, FD, a great nephew of Mary Jennings and the third generation of family funeral directors, joined in 1980 and expanded operations to Clarks Summit that same year.

The funeral home operates a monument business and features a modern facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Through Aspen Meadows Pet Cremation Services, the firm provides pet memorial services with options to honor companion animals. Aquamation, an eco-friendly water-based cremation alternative, will be introduced at the Clarks Summit location in December 2025.
