J.F. Skeffington Funeral Chapel has more than a century of history serving Providence and has recently joined with Hill Funeral Home, another Rhode Island establishment with over 100 years of service. Following a fire on February 2, 2025, the funeral home is rebuilding a new state-of-the-art facility while continuing full operations from a temporary location in East Greenwich.

The funeral home offers traditional services, cremations, pre-planning programs, and memorials at partner facilities throughout Rhode Island. Staff members guide families through the entire planning process and coordinate services at multiple locations across the state during the rebuilding period.
