Hunt & Son Funeral Home was founded by Walter Hunt around 1900 and moved to Crawfordsville in 1905. The business has operated from its Grant Avenue location since 1924, serving families for over a century.
Robert F. Hunt became a licensed funeral director in 1936 and worked alongside his father before serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He remained active in the community, helping establish the professional ambulance service and serving as a police commissioner and school board member.
The third generation entered the business in 1967 when Thomas N. Hunt joined after his service in the U.S. Navy. Tom served on the Crawfordsville Parks Department Board for over 20 years. Today, the fourth generation continues the family tradition with Tom's sons David and Rob working in the funeral home, maintaining the family's long history of service to Montgomery County families.
