Howell Funeral Home & Crematory — Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC

Howell Funeral Home & Crematory was established in July 1997 by founder and owner Stephen R. Howell. The business began as a storefront operation on East Walnut Street, serving 30 families in its first year before growing to 90 families by the second year.

In December 1999, the funeral home opened its current facility on Wayne Memorial Drive, which features Wayne County's first on-site crematory operated by professional staff. The on-site crematory allows families choosing cremation to have complete assurance of privacy and dignity throughout the process, with a ceremonial casket available for families who wish to hold a traditional viewing or service before cremation.

In 2001, Howell Funeral Home & Crematory expanded to include Animal Care Crematory, a separate pet crematory service offering pet cremation along with memorial products including urns, markers, and pet caskets. This addition addressed an identified need in the Goldsboro community for professional pet aftercare services.
