Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes was established in 1923 by Frank M. Higgins and his wife Marie Rosensteel, making it one of the longest-serving funeral providers in Mahoning County. The business remains family owned and operated today under the leadership of Judy Higgins-Reardon, a licensed funeral director and third-generation owner who grew up working in the family business alongside her parents John J. and Barbara Higgins.
The funeral home operates five chapels across the region: the original Austintown location on Mahoning Avenue (established 1958), the Boardman-Canfield Chapel (opened 1976), the Poland Chapel (opened 1993), the North Jackson Chapel (opened 2010), and the Salem Chapel (opened 2020). Higgins-Reardon is the only locally owned and operated funeral home serving Canfield, Poland, and North Jackson.
The funeral home operates its own on-site crematory, ensuring that families who choose cremation have their loved ones remain in the same facility throughout the entire process. Staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
