Heritage Funeral Homes was formed through the merger of several historic Milwaukee funeral establishments. The Scheuerell family began serving the area in 1914, with James Scheuerell remaining involved today. In 1965, Wilfred Tebo and his sons-in-law James Peppey and John B. Klemmer founded their firm, later joined by John T. Klemmer in 1975. Gillette Johnson & Sons dates to the 1930s, with Gillette's son-in-law Raymond Reiss joining that business. Tim Johnson and Mark Reiss continue the family tradition at Heritage today.
The funeral home serves families throughout Milwaukee, Brookfield, Burlington, Cudahy, Franklin, Greenfield, Hales Corners, Hartland, and Menomonee Falls. Staff members are experienced in coordinating military honors and assisting with veterans death and burial benefits. Heritage offers pre-planning consultations both in person and through an online planning process.
