About Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home
Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home was established in 1985 by Henry M. Malburg, who has served Romeo and the surrounding Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair County areas for nearly four decades. In 2011, Henry's son Mark Malburg earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University, passed his National Board Exam, and became a licensed funeral director in Michigan, continuing the family operation.
The funeral home features two chapels—the primary chapel retains the original brick fireplace from the building's history, while a second chapel added in 1997 offers a natural wood vaulted ceiling. Additional amenities include a large lounge with attached kitchen, a separate arrangement room, handicap accessible restrooms, and a 170-gallon saltwater aquarium in the sitting area.
The staff includes Amy Deskins, who joined in 2016 and manages operations, and Jodeen "Jo" Heike, a resident trainee who joined in 2021. Henry M. Malburg Monument Service, also established in 1985, provides memorialization options in conjunction with funeral services.
