Henderson Funeral Home was founded by G.W. Henderson Sr. in 1958 in Hernando and later expanded to Sardis and Tunica. The business is currently owned by Geneva Henderson and managed by Clara Henderson Burnett and Cedric Burnett, making it one of the few family-owned funeral homes in DeSoto County.
G.W. Henderson Sr. began his career in the funeral industry working as both an insurance agent and funeral director for several area funeral homes before opening his own facility in Hernando's West End. In the early 1970s, he purchased Brantley Funeral Chapel on South Panola Street from James Maxey, which became part of the Henderson operation.
The funeral home serves families throughout Panola and DeSoto Counties, including Hernando, Sardis, Tunica, and surrounding communities. Henderson Funeral Home maintains three locations to serve the region.
