In March 2021, Stacy Pickerign purchased the funeral home from Jeff Hemer, bringing her experience as a licensed funeral director since 1999 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota.
The funeral home operates under the name Hemer-Pickerign Funeral & Cremation Services and maintains 24-hour availability year-round. Staff funeral director Colton Freiberg, a Medford native, joined the team in May 2016 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's funeral service program.
