The Hawkins family has served Fort Worth and Tarrant County since 1906, when W.A. "Alf" Hawkins transitioned from barbering to funeral service in Bridgeport. Alf operated the business with his four sons until 1950, when his son Bert Hawkins purchased the funeral home and ran it with the help of Thomas Hays. Bert built a new facility on Stevens Street in 1956, where the family operated until moving to their current Fort Worth location in June 2003.
Bobby Hawkins joined his father after graduating from mortuary school in 1961, and took over leadership of the firm following Bert's death in 1982. The funeral home continues under Hawkins family ownership, now spanning four generations in the profession. Services include traditional burial, cremation with various service options, tribute videos, keepsakes, and live-streaming for remote attendees.
