J.S. Hall and George V. Wynne established Hall-Wynne & Co. in Durham in 1904. Mark T. Higgins and C. Michael Poole purchased the business in 1992, with Michael O'Connor becoming a stockholder and vice president in 2005 before taking over as principal owner and president in October 2019.
The funeral home operates as a privately owned company and maintains an on-site crematory. Hall-Wynne serves families throughout Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Orange County, and Oxford in Granville County.
