Hafemeister Funeral Home & Cremation Service is owned and operated by the Nienow family, with Michael Nienow serving as owner and funeral director. Mike began working at the funeral home while attending Watertown High School, completed his apprenticeship there, and earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2006. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 2006.

The funeral home operates an on-site crematory, with Mike certified as a Crematory Operator since 2013. He also holds a Wisconsin Life Insurance License, allowing the funeral home to offer life insurance as a pre-funding option for future funeral expenses. Mike has been active in the Watertown community as a past President of the Watertown Chamber of Commerce and former board member of the Watertown Main Street Program.
