About Grimes Funeral Chapels
Grimes Funeral Chapels traces its history to 1930 when Smith Funeral Home was established in a building designed specifically for funeral service on the corner of Jefferson and Earl Garrett Streets near the Kerrville courthouse. The funeral home was purchased by W. A. Plummer and his wife, who operated it as Plummer Funeral Home until John and Susie Grimes acquired the business in 1977 and renamed it Grimes Funeral Chapels.
The funeral home operates two locations serving families in Kerrville and Bandera in the Texas Hill Country. Amanda Grimes is noted among the staff for her client service. The business offers pre-planning programs for families who wish to arrange services in advance.
