The funeral home's history traces back to Charles Green, a cabinet maker who built coffins for neighbors in Alabama following the Civil War. His son, Charles N. Green, established a hardware, furniture, and grocery store in Cameron in the early 1900s, with the funeral home operating on the second floor across from what is now First National Bank.
Charles was joined by his brother Leland Green in 1907, marking the formal beginning of the funeral home partnership. In 1939, Leland Sr., Leland Jr., and Carroll M. Green purchased the two-story Gaston house and relocated the funeral home to that location. The business has maintained continuous family ownership through multiple generations.
