About Goolsby Mortuary
Goolsby Mortuary was established in 1977 by Thomas D. Goolsby Jr., an Atlanta native and Washington High School graduate who obtained his funeral service provider license in 1966. The family-owned business is located in Historic Southeast Atlanta and has been operated by the Goolsby family for over four decades, with Lillie Goolsby, a Clark College alumna, serving as Lady Attendant alongside her husband Thomas.
The funeral home offers traditional earth burial, cremation, entombment in mausoleums, and water-based cremation as alternatives to flame-based cremation. Goolsby Mortuary provides horse and carriage services for funeral processions and partners with LifeGem to create memorial diamonds from the carbon of deceased loved ones. The business is a member of Veterans & Family Memorial Care, reflecting its commitment to serving veteran families in the Atlanta area.
