About Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory
Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory occupies a restored 1880s brick building in Boston's section of Elizabeth Township, originally built by brick manufacturer Cassius M. C. Harper. Drew J. Gilbert, a first-generation funeral director, purchased the property in 1989 and preserved its original Red Oak woodwork, pocket doors, and stained glass windows.
The funeral home installed an on-site crematory in 1997 and added a second in 2007, allowing both funeral and cremation care to take place at a single location. A second family location in White Oak, acquired in 2016, is supervised by Troy J. Gilbert, Drew's son and a second-generation licensed funeral director.
The business offers traditional funeral services, cremation, graveside services, pre-planning, and return and transfer services for deaths occurring away from home, serving families throughout the Elizabeth Township and greater Boston, PA area.
