Funerarias Multi Culturel was established in March 2009 by George Fiske III, a long-time Brockton funeral director who reopened his original East Side facility at this location, which has served families since 1922. Fiske, a former US Marine and mortuary student, serving as an apprentice. George Fiske also operates Ilhas Funerarias in Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde, which he established in 2007.
The funeral home specializes in serving Cape Verdean, Haitian, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, and Spanish communities, with multilingual staff available for translation and expertise in international shipping, consulate regulations, and funeral customs specific to these cultures. The facility features a newly enlarged chapel with seating for 300, traditional hand-crafted coffin design, and home visitation setup services.
