Gerald and Cindy Hitchcock have owned Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home since 2003. Gerald is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in California, Montana, and Nevada since 1977, and a graduate of the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He served as coroner in Carbon County, Montana, and deputy coroner in Inyo County, California, and has extensive training as a coroner investigator.

The funeral home serves Yerington, Smith Valley, Wellington, Schurz, Silver Springs, and Fernley. Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is the only funeral firm in Nevada to receive the Pursuit of Excellence Award for outstanding service to families and adherence to professional and ethical standards. Gerald currently serves on the South Lyon Medical Center District Board and previously held board leadership positions including serving as president for four years.
