The Finch family has provided funeral service since 1951, when Barney Finch formed a burial insurance company in Cuero. In 1961, Barney and his son Don purchased half interest in a funeral home in Nixon, eventually becoming sole owners. Don's son Troy Finch, a Texas State University graduate and licensed mortician, joined the staff in 1989. Troy's wife Janet is also a licensed funeral director.
In 1999, Troy acquired Myers Funeral Home in Stockdale as part of the family's expansion across Wilson County. The Finch family now operates funeral chapels in Nixon, Stockdale, and La Vernia, serving families throughout the region for over 60 years. Troy remains active in La Vernia community affairs and continues the family tradition established by his grandfather and father.
