Farus Funeral Home has served Muskingum County since 1946 and operates two locations in Duncan Falls and New Concord. Owner Steve Farus, a 1979 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and Navy veteran, purchased the funeral home in January 1985 after working with previous owner Clyde Thompson. He is joined by his son Matt Farus as a funeral director.
Steve Farus serves as Assistant Chief of the Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department and is clerk of the Duncan Falls Cemetery Association. He is a member of Chandlersville United Methodist Church and a past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association District 13, and was honored with the Sertoma Service to Mankind award from the Zanesville Sertoma Club.
