Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home has served Boerne since the early 20th century, originally operating on Main Street before moving to its current location in 1938. Edmund Ebensberger constructed the present funeral home at 111 Rosewood Avenue in 1937 using wood salvaged from the historic Becker Hotel, creating one of only two Art Deco buildings in Boerne.

The building's original floor plan has remained unchanged since construction, reflecting thoughtful design for the community's needs. Major renovations completed in 2009 by the Fisher family preserved the structure's architectural integrity while updating the facility. The funeral home features distinctive Art Deco styling from the 1940s-1950s era, a rarity in the Texas Hill Country.
