Tyler Douglas was a fourth-generation funeral director who worked in the profession for 76 years before retiring, having started in childhood at his father's firm, Douglas Funeral Home in Methuen, Massachusetts. Susan Douglas Hopkins is an active member of the Salem community, volunteering with the Salem Kiwanis Club, Salem Lions Club, and Salem Area Women's Club, GFWC.
