About Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home

The funeral home traces its origins to 1903 when John W. Fancher established the first funeral home in Roxbury Township. In 1954, Fred V. Davis, Jr. restored the historic building to funeral service as The Davis Funeral Home. William T. Hepplewhite purchased the business in 1983, establishing the current partnership that has now served Morris County families for over 50 years.

The original building has a distinctive history, having served as both a doctor's office and a rigger's home where ship masts were prepared for sailing vessels constructed in the Hoboken shipyards before returning to funeral service in the mid-20th century.
