Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was established in September 1986 by Robert Grimsley with support from family and friends in the community. The business remains family owned and operated today, with notable contributions over the years from Ambrose Cole, Don Kerley, and Lowell Simmons.

In 2006, the funeral home added Cumberland County's first on-site crematory. As demand for cremation services increased, a new state-of-the-art crematory facility was installed in 2011, along with an expanded embalming room and an events care center to accommodate families.

The funeral home works with Homesteaders Life Company to provide advanced planning and funding options for both burial and cremation services. Families can arrange traditional funeral services, memorial services with or without remains present, graveside services, or immediate burial based on their preferences.
