About Collins Funeral Home
Collins Funeral Home has been family owned and operated since 1914, when A.R. Collins first opened the business serving families in Camden and Kershaw County. The funeral home operates from a historic two-story structure at the corner of West DeKalb and Campbell Streets, formerly the 1823 home of Phineas Thronton.
George Collins, who studied at the McAllister School of Embalming in New York, operated the funeral home with his brothers Mack Sr. and Amon Jr. following their father's death in 1960. The funeral home continues to serve families throughout Camden, Bishopville, and surrounding Kershaw County communities.
Collins Funeral Home offers both traditional burial and cremation services, with flexible options ranging from full funeral services to private family gatherings. The funeral home provides pre-planning services and financing options for families. Services can be held in the historic funeral home building or through partnerships with local churches to accommodate larger gatherings.
