Clock Funeral Home was founded in 1897 by Tiede Clock, who started the business with $125 in the back of his family's art supply store on Jefferson Street in downtown Muskegon. The business operated from multiple locations before Tiede officially named it Clock Funeral Home in 1920 and constructed a purpose-built facility at the corner of Sanford Street and Grand Avenue, where it remains today.
Tiede Clock served as Muskegon's first coroner for 21 years. His two sons, Theodore G. and Thomas C., joined the business after graduating from mortuary school, establishing multi-generational family ownership that has continued for over 125 years.
The funeral home serves families in Fruitport and throughout Muskegon County. Services include traditional burials, cremations, celebration of life events, and receptions. The business offers veteran funeral services and operates under what they call the Clock Family Promises with a satisfaction guarantee.
