About Clifton Funeral Home

Clifton Funeral Home traces its origins to 1915, when it began as the undertaking department of the Clifton Mercantile Company. The business became known as Clifton Funeral Home in 1948 when it moved to 303 S. Avenue F. J.B. Darden, Jr. acquired complete ownership in 1962 and served families in Clifton and Bosque County for more than 50 years until his passing in 2014.

In late 2014, the funeral home became part of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, a family-owned firm that originated in Hillsboro in 1923 and added a Whitney location in 1967. Marshall & Marshall has provided service to Hill and Bosque Counties for over 90 years. The firm is currently operated by Jan and James Shaw and Jackie and Pat Dumas, who joined the business in 1990.

The funeral home offers both traditional funeral services and cremation options, including full service funerals, memorial services, and private arrangements. Services can be personalized with tribute videos, keepsakes, and live streaming for distant family and friends. Pre-planning assistance is available through their preplanning specialist, and the funeral home provides ongoing grief support resources for families.
