Clyde L. Chandler founded Chandler's Funeral Home in 1995 with his wife after a long career in the profession. Chandler graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1958 and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Florida in 1966, working at Bodge Funeral Home in Pensacola, Larkins Funeral Home in Clearwater, and Stevens Funeral Home in Sarasota before opening his own establishment.
In 2003, the funeral home held a groundbreaking ceremony for its current facility in the Newtown neighborhood of Sarasota. The business offers traditional funeral services, cremation, domestic and international shipping, notary public services, and special transportation arrangements including limousine service for families.
The funeral home provides military memorial services with veteran burial flags and maintains membership in the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.
