Chandler Funeral Home traces its origins to 1938, when R.E. "Ed" Falkner established the first funeral home serving north and central Lamar County and parts of eastern Monroe and Lowndes County, Mississippi. The business changed hands and names several times—operating as Brock/Brown Service Funeral Home under Berneal Brock in the 1960s, then Sullivan Funeral Home under Bob Sullivan starting in 1972—before Allen Chandler purchased it in 1984 after working as an embalmer and funeral director for the previous owners.

The funeral home remains family owned and operated, serving families throughout eastern Alabama and western Mississippi.
