"Ed" Falkner established the first funeral home serving north and central Lamar County and parts of eastern Monroe and Lowndes County, Mississippi. The business changed hands and names several times—operating as Brock/Brown Service Funeral Home under Berneal Brock in the 1960s, then Sullivan Funeral Home under Bob Sullivan starting in 1972—before Allen Chandler purchased it in 1984 after working as an embalmer and funeral director for the previous owners.
