About Chadwick Funeral Service
Chadwick Funeral Service traces its roots to 1913, when Fred A. Pressey established the business to serve New London families. Walton W. Chadwick purchased the home from his uncle in 1957, and it has remained family-owned through four generations since, now operated by Charles and Marion (Chadwick) Hafner, who took ownership in 1991.
Marion Hafner has worked as a licensed funeral director for more than 35 years, joined by her husband Charles, a graduate of the Funeral Institute of New England with over 30 years in the profession. Their son Daniel, a Saint Michael's College graduate, joined the family business in 2015, and Scott Hafner serves as transfer personnel and crematory operator.
In 2009 the family expanded, acquiring Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Newport, NH. The funeral home serves all faiths and continues to operate as a locally rooted, multi-generation family business in Merrimack County.
