Carmine J. Parise founded the funeral home in 1941 after receiving his undertaker's license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1949, he purchased a home at 89 Farview Street and converted it into a funeral facility. His son, Louis C. "Chippy" Parise, became a licensed funeral director in 1967 and assumed sole ownership following his father's death in 1980.
The funeral home remains under founding family ownership, making it one of Carbondale's oldest continuously operating funeral establishments still owned by its original family. The business has served families of all faiths and nationalities throughout Lackawanna County for over eight decades.
