About Burket-Truby Funeral Home
Burket-Truby Funeral Home has operated in Oakmont since 1954, when Leonard P. and Mary Frances Burket opened the original funeral home on Allegheny Avenue in a building dating to 1899. Russell E. and Janice L. Truby, who began working with Mr. Burket in 1979, purchased the business in 1981, giving rise to its current name while keeping it family owned and operated across generations.
The funeral home serves Oakmont, Verona, Penn Hills, Cheswick, Springdale, New Kensington, and other communities in the greater Pittsburgh area. It is one of a limited number of funeral homes approved by the Green Burial Council to offer green burial options, alongside traditional funeral and cremation services.
Preplanning services are handled by in-house specialist Kim Cramer, who works directly with families on advance arrangements.
