About Brown's Funeral Home
Brown's Funeral Home is managed under the legacy of Tyree P. Jones Sr., a 1956 graduate of American Academy of Funeral Service in New York City who became licensed in 1976. Jones was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and worked for 25 years at Perry Funeral Home in Newark before retiring in 2000 while managing Brown's in Plainfield.
The funeral home serves families throughout Union County with traditional funeral services, cremation options, and veteran honors. Staff members are affiliated with the Garden State Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.
Jones maintained lifelong memberships in Bethel Presbyterian Church in Plainfield, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Stone Square Lodge #38 F. & A. M. Prince Hall Affiliate, and American Legion Johnson Jeter Post #219.
