Roger and Don Beaty purchased English Funeral Home in Mineola in 1991, expanding the business their mentor Ray Edwards originally operated as McCary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Home since the early 1900s. Both brothers attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and became licensed funeral directors in the early 1970s. The funeral home acquired the Winnsboro location in 1989 and built a new facility there in 1991.
The Beaty family also owns and operates Roselawn Memorial Gardens, a perpetual care cemetery in Mineola. The funeral home offers traditional services with tribute videos and memorial displays, and employs trained life celebrants to lead services when clergy are not chosen. Services can be held in the funeral home chapel, at a church, or at other venues selected by families.
