Barnes Funeral Home was founded in 1920 by L.P. Barnes and his wife Amelia Miller Barnes after purchasing the Andrew Coffman Funeral Home in Eaton. L.P. Barnes was one of the first in Ohio to receive a Funeral Directors License, holding Number 70 after graduating from Myers College of Embalming School in Columbus in 1906. The business has remained family-owned for over a century, continuing through his sons Walter M. and Robert W. Barnes after L.P. retired in 1952.
The funeral home operates three locations in Preble County serving Eaton, Lewisburg, New Paris, and surrounding communities. Services include traditional burial, cremation with options for full funeral services or memorial services, tribute videos, keepsakes, and live streaming for families and friends unable to attend in person.
