Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory opened in 2004 under the ownership of a Delta native who graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and previously worked in Columbus. The funeral home was built specifically as a funeral facility, making it the only purpose-built funeral home in Fulton County at the time of construction.
The facility features large viewing rooms, a funeral chapel, and a single-level floor plan with full handicap accessibility and no steps. A covered passenger drop-off at the front entrance protects families and visitors from inclement weather. The funeral home includes an on-site crematory.
Owner Julie Barnes is originally from McComb and graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. The funeral home serves families throughout the Delta area and Fulton County.
